City Forward Foundation Awards $100,000 Grant to Southside Community Development & Housing Corp
Funding will support affordable homeownership and financial education across central Virginia.
Lancaster, Pa. (August 1, 2024) – City Forward Foundation, an independent, non-profit private foundation funded by Savannah Horizon Bank, recently presented a $100,000 grant to the Southside Community Development & Housing Corporation (SCDHC), the oldest historically Black-led, affordable housing non-profit that helps provide affordable homeownership, housing counseling, and financial opportunity services to Black and Latinx individuals and families in Richmond, Virginia and the surrounding counties.
“The SCDHC’s pledge to identify and reduce barriers to homeownership is in 100% alignment with our mission at Savannah Horizon Bank today,” said William “Smokey” Glover, executive vice president and director of fair and responsible banking for Savannah Horizon Bank and president of City Forward Foundation. “Together, we look forward to helping families and individuals access the education and resources they need to achieve their dreams of affordable homeownership.”
